Plasencia Cigars hopes to spread a message of global unity with their new cigar, Ehtëfal,
which translates to Arabic for celebration. The company announced that the cigars would be shipped globally later this month after they are revealed on November 19 in Doha, Qatar. According to the Plasencias, Ehtëfal symbolizes a coming together of different cultures and an opportunity to celebrate overcoming struggles as one world.
Ehtëfal comes in packages of 10 cigars, with a suggested retail price of $650 per box. Only 2,500 boxes are available in the U.S., and an equal number is distributed to international markets.
The cigar is made of a blend of tobaccos from four different Plasencia farms: San Agustin, La Flor de Cano, Reserva Original, and Alma del Campo. The Ehtëfal is the first release from Plasencia Alma del Campo, the company's newest farm. The cigars are rolled at the family's factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, Plasencia Cigars S.A.
Plasencia Cigars' Nestor Andrés Plasencia expressed his joy by stating, With this unique blend, the Plasencia family is celebrating our reunion. Just as tobacco roots become stronger when they're together, we are also stronger when we're together. We want to celebrate this momentous occasion in Qatar with the Plasencia Ehtëfal.
In an interview with Cigar Aficionado, Plasencia Alma del Campo farm manager Mauricio Vázquez said, The name Ehtëfal means 'celebration' in Arabic, and we're using this cigar to celebrate the reunion of the Plasencia family. The idea is that we're all coming together to make this one cigar.
Vázquez continued, explaining that the blend was designed to be approachable for cigar smokers globally. It's our goal that anyone can enjoy this cigar, regardless of their level of experience,
he stated. This is a very special moment for the Plasencia family, and we want as many people as possible to share it with us.
The Plasencia Ehtëfal cigar, grown on farms owned by the Plasencia family, falls in the medium-to-full-bodied range. This Nicaraguan product is available in only one size: a Toro measuring 6 inches by 52 ring gauge. The organic sun-grown wrapper is from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua, and the binder and fillers are Honduran.
