Liga Undercrown Maduro by Drew Estate is a celebrated extension of the legendary Liga Privada family, crafted by Nicaragua’s largest premium cigar producer. After the overwhelming demand for Liga Privada—so high that cigars were being enjoyed before they even left the factory—Drew Estate set out to create a blend that delivered the same spirit while remaining more accessible to fans. Originally developed as the personal blend of Drew Estate’s own torcedores, Liga Undercrown is often described by Jonathan Drew as the “inverse” of Liga Privada. It uses many of the same tobaccos, but with a unique twist: instead of the scarce Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Undercrown features a dark, flavorful Mexican San Andrés Negro wrapper. The binder is a Connecticut Broadleaf—also used in Liga Privada—but selected from a different vintage and priming for a distinct character. The result is a medium- to full-bodied cigar that’s rich, creamy, and naturally sweet, offering a deeply satisfying profile all its own.
