Backwoods Dark Leaf Dark Natural | Small Cigar | Upright of 40

Backwoods Dark Leaf is an even more flavorful option in the Backwoods lineup! This time, the Backwoods folks decided to take their Natural Broadleaf wrapper and give it even more time to age; the result is a darker leaf – hence the name – but with deeper tobacco flavor. Or put it another way: it’s the closest thing you get to a Maduro Backwoods! Backwoods once again teases out the taste buds with a rum flavoring to complement the mild, Caribbean Basin Cuban seed tobaccos with a sweetness that becomes evident in both aroma and taste. But the difference is in the natural flavor that extra aging has provided the Broadleaf: the dark leaf is aged a full 12 months, which helps to mellow the tobacco while bringing out richer flavors and a smoother smoke.  Dark Leaf Because of Extra Aging As with premium cigars, the wrapper tells a flavorful story. The 12-month aged Broadleaf wrapper gives more character and depth (earthy, rich, maybe slightly more robust) than the usual lighter natural wrappers and less-aged tobaccos in the blends. Dark Leaf fits that niche for smokers looking for the flavored cigar sweet spot, balancing infused sweetness with genuine tobacco character.  Bolder Doesn’t Mean Stronger Backwoods smokers enjoy that raw, outdoorsy aesthetic: the rough wrapper, rustic look, natural leaf, and an aromatic smoke. It’s what makes Backwoods, Backwoods. Dark Leaf embraces that identity but adds even more character (and layers of sweetness) with the molasses-y notes of rum and a darker, richer wrapper. It’s fuller in body – and a pat on the back for smokers who want more flavor and aroma, without going fully into premium cigars. It’s a good day to smoke Backwoods…choose the original for the timeless rustic tobacco that Backwoods smokers swear by,  or choose Backwoods Dark Leaf when you want a small cigar with more body, character, and aroma.
