H. Upmann 1844 Barbier Robusto cigars are the first barber pole wrapped cigar in the famed H. Upmann brand portfolio. The cigar utilizes a unique combination of two wrappers Connecticut and Sumatra with a Java binder and a blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican and Broadleaf fillers resting beneath. The use of these contrasting shades of wrappers makes for an eye-catching, barber-pole-like presentation, but most importantly scrumptious flavors of leather, earth, chocolate, and pepper that took turns being the predominant top note. I give this artisanal masterpiece two thumbs up for both construction and delicious medium bodied taste.
