The Undercrown Shade was the first cigar blended by Willy Herrera to not bear his name. After he took over as the master blender for Drew Estate, he began meticulously toiling on new cigars for some of their classic lines. Undercrown Shade is a mellow to medium-bodied version of the original Undercrown cigar. Mellow enough to enjoy as your first cigar of the day, theUndercrown Shade is a great example of “new age” Connecticuts. Full in flavor, but not full of strength. Undercrown Shade gets its name from the gorgeous Shade Grown Ecuador Connecticut wrapper leaf. An Indonesian Sumatra binder adds sweetness, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic bring balance and spice.
