I just finished a BDL Maduro Toro. It was fresh off the truck, so these are my initial impressions. Visually these are good looking cigars. The wrapper is deepish brown with some nice mottling throughout. The cigar, like most Raymond Pages cigars is very well made. Firm in the hand, solid and uniform throughout. A very nicely done box press as well. I used my Hammersmith V cutter to cut the cigar, it's my favorite cutter of all time. This cigar draws perfectly. The burn is sharp and even from start to finish.

On to the flavor profile. This one starts out with an abundance of natural sweet tobacco flavors with only small nuances of spice. What it lacks in spice at the start it more than makes up for in flavors. I have no idea how Raymond is able to get so many really great flavors out of his leaf. It's honestly mind blowing to me. The cigar produces oodles and oodles of thick chewy smoke, which I love. Right about when I got to the half way point, the spice shows up and marries beautifully with the natural sweet tobacco flavors. It starts out as a light medium bodied cigar and builds into a solid medium bodied cigar. I usually prefer a bit more spice on the front half, but this one has such an abundance of nice flavors up there, I really enjoyed the cigar from start to finish. I nubbed this one to the point of just about burning my fingers. If I have to name flavors, I'd say some milk chocolate, nuances of vanilla, some wild honey, you know, the really good stuff, some cedar, and in the back half a nice nuance touch of white pepper. Overall a solid 90 in my book. Another super tasty cigar from the young man at a terrific price point.

I'd like to see more of these come back in stock. I got a fiver of the robusto and have burned 4 of them so far. Tasty stick with incredible smoke production that is chewy and thick. I'm a San Andres fanboi so these were on my radar since they came out. Finally pulled the trigger and glad I did. Just the right amount of sweet woods with some vanilla and mild pepper hints through the entire stick. Good draw and no major burn issues. Smoked all to the nub. I'll be getting more in the future.
