Released to mark the Lunar New Year, this limited cigar from Davidoff leans into elegance over spectacle—despite the symbolism suggesting otherwise. The profile is classic Davidoff: creamy cedar, toasted nuts, fresh bread, light white pepper, and a soft underlying sweetness that develops gradually rather than announcing itself. Medium-bodied and impeccably balanced, it’s composed from start to finish, with construction that reminds you why Davidoff’s reputation exists in the first place. Rolled in a double-corona format, the Year of the Dragon blended with eight tobaccos whose combined age clocks in at 60 years, a nod to the lunar-cycle birthday of anyone born in 1964, the previous Year of the Dragon. Up top sits a silky Ecuadorian wrapper; beneath it, a Dominican binder corrals long-fillers from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
