His goal was to bring back the classic Connecticut Shade style that many smokers remembered fondly—smooth, creamy, and naturally sweet. Unlike many modern Connecticut blends that lean bitter or grassy, Brulee focuses on balance and refinement. The Sobremesa Brulee Robusto is handmade at Joya de Nicaragua in Estelí, Nicaragua. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, a Mexican binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. The result is a mild-to-medium strength cigar that delivers a creamy, mellow smoke with depth. The flavor profile is smooth and layered, with notes of cedar, nuts, coffee, and a touch of natural sweetness. Some smokers detect a subtle sweetened tip, which enhances the overall experience.
