Ernesto Perez Carrillo did it all over again!
The E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel cigar was just announced The No. 1 Cigar of The Year 2020 by the Cigar Aficionado magazine. Receiving and astonishing rating of 98.
Ernesto, or Ernie, as we all know him, is the last Mohican of the cigar giants that we all grew up to know and admire. Unlike most of them that are no longer making new cigars, Ernesto is alive and kicking! He is always cranking out amazing new stogies year after year just like he's been doing for more than 50 years, since the great years of La Gloria Cubana.
As we all stand at attention and salute this man we feel privileged to have memories of working with Ernesto, by helping him with distribution of El Credito cigars. Starting from the good old years when his entire production facility was located in three storefronts at Calle Ocho in Little Havana, Miami.
Just two years ago in 2018, Ernesto received the coveted No. 1 Cigar of The Year designation from Cigar Aficionado with the Encore Majestic cigar which received a rating of 96. Now he did it yet again with the fantastic E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel. Another notable cigars to mention is the La Historia E-III cigar that received No. 2 cigar of the year in 2014 with a rating of 95.
No doubt, nobody knows the secrets of cigar making like Ernesto does and the proof is, as they say, in the pudding, - and by pudding we mean cigar!
"The E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel is a delicious smoke that delivers flavor in bold, zesty parcels of spicy oak, licorice, black cherry and black pepper....when you think youβve tasted all the cigar has to offer, a warm, familiar note of baked apple settles across the palate. That performance alone is what sent the cigar straight to the top of the list. " - read everything about E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel cigar and Ernesto Perez Carrillo. -Cigar Aficionado

Just smoked my first one

Just smoked my first one. Mike's shipped my pre-ordered box of 10 sooner than expected which I received yesterday.
To my surprise, the cigar was stronger than what I expected. I would say more like a medium full strength rather than medium bodied as advertised. It is probably due to the maduro wrapper. Needless to say, the cigar is well constructed like most EP cigars I have tried. Great, even burn and not a single relight needed. I do not know if it deserved the #1 cigar of the year but it was a good cigar and that's what matters to me.

The second I saw this at the top of Cigar Aficionado's, I had to have it. It was sold out everywhere, so I pre-ordered at Mike's. It got here so quick. I tore open the box, lit up, and was in heaven.

ordered a while back, got it a lot earlier than expected. I knew that Cigar Aficionado made this cigar of the year, so my expectations were pretty. It exceeded them! The oaky zest stayed on my lips as I savored every inch!
