Macanudo Port - Single of 1
Macanudo Port is a Mike’s exclusive take on the long-established Macanudo Café profile, offered in a stout 4 1/2 x 60 format that helped popularize big-ring mild cigars. Made in the Dominican Republic, it pairs a Connecticut wrapper with a Mexican binder and a Dominican-Mexican filler blend for the smooth, approachable character that has made Macanudo a familiar name for generations of smokers. This short magnum delivers mellow body with enough flavor to keep the smoke from feeling one-dimensional, making it a practical choice for newer smokers and longtime fans of easygoing Connecticut blends alike. Expect the brand’s signature creamy, fragrant character backed by a rounded, flavorful profile, and plan on roughly 35 to 50 minutes of smoking time depending on your pace.

I bought a box of these as an almost afterthought because I liked the size and shape, but wanted a lighter smoke for a change. Lately I find myself grabbing one every time I open my humidor. In fact, I've had to pace myself so that I don't run out too fast.
First of all, it's Macanudo, so I know the construction is excellent. I'm through about half a box and so far, no plugs or major soft spots. The draw is just right and each cigar burns into a delicate, light gray ash.
What's cool about these sticks is that most of the big ring gauges on the market tend to be dark and complex, but these Port Cafes offer up a lighter smoke in a hefty package, making them unique. There isn't a ton of complexity to talk about in flavor...crisp straw and cedar notes. Creamy with a hint of bitterness and the whole thing is pretty consistent. I like the price and the change of pace from most of my maduros. These guys have found a place on my permanent stock list.
