Blackened M81 by Drew Estate is a collaboration between three of the best in their respective fields, Jonathan Drew Co-founder and president of Drew Estate Cigars, Metallica's James Hetfield, and Rob Dietrich - the master distiller of Blackened Whiskey. As an ode to the band M81 is a reference to Metallica's name and 1981, the year they were founded. The Blackened 'M81' starts with an oily Mexican San Andes Maduro wrapper over a Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf Maduro binder and a blend of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro ligero filler tobaccos. The result is an all-maduro cigar that is dark, bold, rich, and powerful with notes of espresso, leather, and dark chocolate.
