Sobremesa Brulee was launched in 2019 by Steve Saka of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust. His vision was to revive the traditional Connecticut Shade style—smooth, creamy, and naturally sweet—while avoiding the bitterness often found in modern Connecticut blends. The Sobremesa Brulee Toro is handmade at Joya de Nicaragua in Estelí, Nicaragua. It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, a Mexican binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. This combination produces a mild-to-medium strength cigar that is approachable yet refined. The flavor profile is creamy and mellow, with notes of cedar, nuts, coffee, and a touch of natural sweetness. Some smokers notice a subtle sweetened tip, which enhances the smooth character. The Toro size offers a balanced smoking experience with a longer burn, making it one of the most popular formats in the Sobremesa Brulee line of premium cigars.
