Made under Alan Rubin and Nestor Plasencia in Nicaragua, it uses a Nicaraguan wrapper and binder over fillers from Nicaragua, Honduras, and Costa Rica for a medium-bodied profile of nuts, leather, cayenne, earth, and wood. The name may wink at lancero tradition, but the smoke stays approachable and hearty, more steakhouse than spice bomb, with a long finish that keeps the pepper moving.
