Sweet cream, toast, cedar, and a touch of caramel set the table on the Epicure Gordo, a 6 x 60 Crux made at Plasencia in Nicaragua with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and a mild profile. That all-Nicaraguan binder and filler core adds soft bread notes and a little pepper, giving the smoke enough snap to keep the bigger ring from feeling sleepy. In Gordo form, the blend comes off round, mellow, and extra creamy on the palate.
