Joya de Nicaragua takes its old-school Antaño muscle and gives Gran Consul a smoother edge with five-year-aged Nicaraguan long-fillers under a select Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper from the top of the crop. Made in Nicaragua and landing at medium-full strength, this 4 3/4 x 60 belicoso opens with pepper and earth, then layers on cinnamon, floral sweetness, and a dark, chewy core. It’s a stout little smoke from Nicaragua’s oldest cigar company, with enough richness to keep the palate coated in spice and roasted notes to the nub.
