Hoyo de Monterrey Oscuro Rothschild - Box of 10
Hoyo de Monterrey Oscuro Rothschild Cigars are a delightful combination of old school and modern innovation. Created with an eye for balance. Only Hoyo could create such a synthesis of the new and old with such aplomb.
Created with a heartfelt mix of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran tobacco for the filler. Cradled in an Ecuadorian Sumatran binder, and graciously rolled into a thick and oily Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper. Light and enjoy the abundant flavors of cayenne pepper, cherry cola, white pepper, and rye bread.
At four and a half inches, with a fifty ring gauge, each Rothschild is an aristocratic twenty five minute smoke.

Solid smoke.

I've enjoyed this cigar, back to the old double maduro, for over 30 years. But haven't had one for several years. It still is a solid smoke with strong favorable wrapper and even draw. I remember the old cigar had a bit of hot start and very pleasant mellowness shortly after that start. Also the old cigar had an outstanding finish with a taste that made me burn my fingers trying to get every bit of goodness till there was no tobacco left.
While this cigar is good, memory is that the old cigar was better during the middle smoke and finish.
For you at Mike's or fellow customers that smoked this cigar for years, has the composition this cigar changed a little or is it just my imagination running away.
Thanks for your input.
