This latest release replaces the original Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper with a Mexican San Andrés Maduro leaf. The filler and binder stay the same: both are Nicaraguan from the Jalapa region of the country, which is said to offer some of the best flavors known. They are also some of the most aged fillers that Oliva has in their warehouse.
The wrapper is smooth as the draw and smoke are. Most of the Oliva Serie V Maduros if not all, have the distinct "Shark" ash which in the Dominican Republic is said to be "Very good luck". This cigar is a superb addition to any cigar aficionados stellar repertoire of top of the line cigars. So don't be the only humidor in the game without a few of these bad boys.

Strictly Torpedos/Figurados in my humidor. These guys take the top spot right next to The Padron Family Reserves, Plasencia Alma Fuertes & the Davidoff Yamasas. This cigar is no joke, pure TOP SHELF. Newbies beware, this pack Bark and Bite!

I bought a box of 10 for the super bowl and what a good choice. From beginning to end this smoke is pure pleasure. Full body flavor but very smooth and creamy. Quite yummy! This is now my new favorite cigar.

Love the box press torpedo with Oliva's great Nicaragua Core. All wrapped up in dark San Andres...what more do you want? Don't say that it's too prices because you're hard pressed to find a better stick for under 13 bucks a price for a box of 10.
