Skip Martin gives the Blind Pig a stout little frame with a 4 1/2 x 60 Petite Gordo build, rolled in Nicaragua beneath an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, and that extra ring lays on rich helpings of leather, toasted earth, cracked pepper, and a faint nutty sweetness on the finish. Full-bodied on paper but smooth in the hand, it feels hearty and dense, like dark rye toast with a dusting of spice and roasted nuts.
