Oliva Serie V 135th Anniversary Edición Limitada commemorates 135 years of the Oliva family’s involvement in tobacco, beginning with Melanio Oliva’s first crop in Cuba in 1886. Introduced in 2021, the release places the established character of Serie V into a distinctive 5 1/2 x 54 perfecto with a rounded head and dramatically tapered foot. Its unusual proportions concentrate the opening before gradually revealing the full expression of the blend. A dark Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos. The medium-full profile develops through notes of coffee, leather, cedar, earth, pepper, caramel, chocolate, and natural sweetness, culminating in a rich espresso finish. Its balance of strength and complexity earned the cigar a 91-point rating from Cigar Aficionado. The cigars are arranged in a distinctive fan-shaped presentation containing 12 perfectos, with a secondary foot band marking the 135th anniversary. The initial production consisted of 15,000 boxes, but exceptional demand led Oliva to continue the release through periodic allocations.
