Bold Dominican Power — Litto Gomez's Full-Bodied Legacy
No comparison data available for this brand.
La Flor Dominicana (LFD) shattered the myth that Dominican cigars had to be mild. Founded by Litto Gomez in 1994, LFD proved that the Dominican Republic could produce full-bodied, intensely flavored cigars that rival anything from Nicaragua or Honduras. The Andalusian Bull won Cigar Aficionado's #1 Cigar of the Year in 2016, and the Double Ligero series has become a benchmark for power and complexity. CigarFinder compares La Flor Dominicana prices across 17+ trusted retailers.
Litto Gomez was a successful businessman who pivoted to cigar making in the early 1990s — a time when Dominican cigars were synonymous with mild, mellow smokes. Gomez had a different vision. Working from his farm and factory in the La Canela region of the Dominican Republic, he began producing bold, full-bodied cigars that upended industry expectations.
The Double Ligero was the game-changer — using two ligero leaves (the strongest, most flavorful tobacco from the top of the plant) to create a cigar of remarkable intensity. It established LFD's reputation as the bold Dominican brand. The Andalusian Bull took the brand to its highest peak, winning Cigar Aficionado's #1 Cigar of the Year in 2016 with its distinctive figurado shape and complex, full-bodied profile.
La Nox is a dark, mysterious Oscuro-wrapped cigar for nighttime smoking. Air Bender is a Nicaraguan puro that shows Gomez's range beyond Dominican tobacco. Chapter One uses Dominican-grown Chipotle tobacco. The Ligero Cabinet series and various limited Mysterio releases round out one of the most innovative portfolios in the industry. LFD also grows its own tobacco on their estate — a rarity that ensures quality from seed to smoke.
