Montecristo Cigars: Compare Prices from 20 Retailers

Montecristo is arguably the most recognized cigar name in the world. While the original Cuban Montecristo has been produced in Havana since 1935, the non-Cuban Montecristo sold in the United States is made by Altadis USA in the Dominican Republic. The U.S. Montecristo has built its own legacy as a premium brand offering refined, accessible cigars that range from the mild Classic to the bold Epic Craft Cured. CigarFinder compares Montecristo prices across 20 trusted retailers.

The Montecristo name was born in 1935 in Havana, inspired by Alexandre Dumas's novel The Count of Monte Cristo. A favorite story read aloud to factory rollers. The brand became one of Cuba's most iconic exports. The non-Cuban rights are held by Altadis USA (part of Scandinavian Tobacco Group), which produces the U.S. Line in the Dominican Republic.

The Montecristo Classic is the signature. A mild-to-medium Dominican blend with a silky Connecticut shade wrapper that delivers smooth cream, cedar, and subtle sweetness. It is one of the best-selling premium cigars in America. The Montecristo White offers a slightly fuller, more complex profile. Montecristo Platinum features a richer Habano wrapper.

The Montecristo Epic was blended in collaboration with AJ Fernandez, introducing a bolder, Nicaraguan-influenced character. Epic Craft Cured uses tobaccos cured in bourbon barrels for a unique twist. The 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua pays tribute to the founding year with a full-bodied Nicaraguan blend. Espada (blended by the Garcia family) adds even more range. From mild to full-bodied, Montecristo covers every preference.
