Remedios de Santa Clara was created by Cigar Master John Oliva in the wake of a warehouse fire that destroyed an entire Connecticut Valley tobacco supplier's inventory. With pressure on Connecticut wrapper supply, Oliva developed Remedios as a value line that could deliver the Connecticut character at an accessible price.
The cigars are produced at Nicaraguan American Tobaccos S.A. in Esteli, Nicaragua, a large factory partly owned by JR Cigar.
