About AVO Cigars

Avo Uvezian's passion for premium cigars traced back decades before he created his own brand. The classic, white-suited pianist — famous for his iconic wicker Panama hat — grew frustrated with other brands and decided to create his own in 1987. Davidoff developed the line under the expertise of master blender Hendrik Kelner and launched nationally in 1988. Often promoted with in-concert performances by the revered pianist, the brand enjoyed tremendous demand throughout the 1990s cigar boom and beyond. Uvezian actively promoted AVO until his passing in 2017 at the age of 91.
