Tatuaje (Spanish for "tattoo") is one of the most acclaimed boutique cigar brands in the world, created by Pete Johnson in partnership with Don Pepin Garcia. Tatuaje cigars are produced at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and are renowned for bold, Cuban-inspired blending that delivers intense flavor and complexity. The annual Monster Series limited releases have become some of the most sought-after cigars in existence. CigarFinder compares Tatuaje prices across 20 trusted retailers.
About Tatuaje Cigars
Pete Johnson was a cigar retailer in Los Angeles who dreamed of creating his own brand. In 2003, he partnered with Don Pepin Garcia. Then a relatively unknown Cuban master blender working in Miami. To produce his vision of bold, Cuban-style cigars. The partnership proved transformative for both: Tatuaje helped launch Pepin Garcia into stardom, and Garcia's blending genius gave Tatuaje instant credibility.
The Tatuaje Havana series (Brown Label, Red Label) forms the core lineup. Cuban-inspired Nicaraguan blends with balanced complexity. The Black Label is the brand's dark, full-bodied flagship with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper delivering intense flavors of espresso, dark earth, and black pepper.
The Monster Series is Tatuaje's crown jewel. Annual limited-edition releases named after classic horror movie characters (The Michael, The Jason, The Krueger, The Drac, The Hyde, etc.). These sell out almost instantly and command massive secondary market premiums. Cojonu is a bold, full-bodied line. Karloff and Nuevitas offer more refined expressions. The Tattoo is the value line delivering Tatuaje quality at an everyday price.
