Jose "Pepin" Garcia was born in Cuba and trained as a torcedor at the legendary El Laguito factory. The same factory that produces Cohiba for the Cuban government. After emigrating to Miami in 2001, he began rolling cigars in a small Little Havana workshop called El Rey de los Habanos. Word spread quickly about the exceptional quality of his handmade cigars, and demand exploded.
Pepin moved production to Estelí, Nicaragua, establishing the My Father Cigars factory (formally Tabacalera Cubana) which has grown into one of the most respected and productive facilities in the industry.
