Davidoff represents the pinnacle of luxury cigars — Swiss precision meets Dominican craftsmanship. Founded by the legendary Zino Davidoff, the brand has been synonymous with prestige and refinement for over half a century. Using only the top echelon of tobaccos with extensive aging and the most rigorous quality control in the industry, Davidoff cigars are flawlessly constructed with enticing flavors of cedar, coffee, and nuts. The portfolio includes the 95-rated Davidoff Nicaragua (former Cigar Aficionado #3 of the Year) and the acclaimed Winston Churchill collection.
CigarFinder compares Davidoff prices across 17+ trusted retailers to help you find the best deal on every line.
Zino Davidoff was born in 1906 in Kiev, Ukraine. His family fled to Geneva in 1911, and his father Henri opened a tobacco shop that became a gathering place for political exiles — including a young patron who never paid for his cigarettes and later changed his name to Vladimir Lenin. As a young man, Zino traveled penniless to Argentina, Brazil, and Cuba, immersing himself in tobacco and falling in love with cigar making.
Zino is credited with introducing humidors to Europe and devised the brilliant strategy of naming cigars after Grand Cru wines of Bordeaux — Chateau Haut-Brion, Chateau Lafite, Chateau Latour — connecting cigars to legendary wine estates. In 1970, Cuban manufacturers honored Zino with the first Davidoff-named cigars. But by the late 1980s, he grew dissatisfied with Cuban quality and publicly burned thousands of cigars in 1989 — forever severing ties with Cuba.
By the early 1990s, production shifted to the Dominican Republic under master cigar-maker Hendrik Kelner at the Tabadom factory. Davidoff Grand Cru reflects Zino's original Cuban series — Connecticut-seed wrapper over Dominican long-fillers with notes of straw, hay, and nuts. Davidoff Aniversario adds wood, mushroom, and earth; the Aniversario No. 3 and Special R have become iconic.
The 95-rated Davidoff Nicaragua, a former #3 Cigar of the Year, features a 10-year-aged Cuban-seed Nicaraguan Rosado wrapper for spices, earth, leather, coffee, and creamy floral tones. The Winston Churchill collection honors the legendary statesman with roasted nuts, caramel, and cedar. Winston Churchill Late Hour features tobaccos aged in single-malt scotch casks.
Davidoff Yamasa spotlights the untapped Yamasa region with cedar, wood, and black pepper. Escurio celebrates Brazilian nightlife. Millennium Blend delivers white pepper, earth, cocoa, and roasted nuts with a rare Ecuadorian Hybrid wrapper.

Davidoff uses only the top echelon of tobaccos with extensive aging and the most rigorous quality control in the industry. The Swiss luxury standard, Dominican craftsmanship at Tabadom, and exclusive White Label merchant distribution all contribute to premium pricing.
The 95-rated Nicaragua is a former #3 Cigar of the Year. Aniversario Special R is an iconic luxury cigar. Winston Churchill Late Hour features tobaccos aged in scotch casks. Grand Cru is the smoothest, most classic profile.
Born in Kiev in 1906, Zino fled to Geneva in 1911 where his father opened a tobacco shop. He built Davidoff into the pinnacle of luxury cigars and famously burned thousands of Cuban cigars in 1989 for failing to meet his quality standards.
Davidoff Signature or Grand Cru offer smooth, approachable profiles. Both feature Connecticut-style wrappers with creamy, mild-to-medium flavors. Winston Churchill is an excellent step up.
Created to honor the late hours Churchill spent thinking and writing, it features an Ecuador Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan tobaccos aged in single-malt scotch casks for minerals, leather, and sweet grasses.
Signature starts around 12-15 dollars. Grand Cru runs 14-20 dollars. Winston Churchill costs 15-22 dollars. Nicaragua costs 15-25 dollars. Aniversario and limited editions range from 20-50+ dollars. Compare on CigarFinder.
