Padron Cigars is one of the most celebrated and highest-rated cigar brands in the world. Founded in 1964 by Jose Orlando Padron, the brand has grown into a powerhouse known for rich, full-bodied Nicaraguan puros that dominate Best Of lists year after year. With over 100 ratings of 90 or higher including the legendary 97-point Padron 1926 Serie No. 9, Padron sets the standard for consistency and quality.
CigarFinder compares Padron cigar prices across 17+ trusted online retailers in real time so you can find the lowest price on every Padron line.
The Padron story begins in 1964 when Jose Orlando Padron, a Cuban exile, opened a small cigar factory on West Flagler Street in Miami. By the 1970s, Padron had moved production to Nicaragua, importing Cuban-seed tobacco from the Jalapa Valley and Esteli regions.
The brand transformation came in 1994 when Jorge Padron launched the Padron 1964 Anniversary Series. Made with tobaccos aged 4+ years in the signature box-pressed format, the 1964 became an instant icon. The Padron 1926 Serie followed in 2002 with tobaccos aged 5+ years. The 1926 No. 9 earned a 97-point rating and Cigar Aficionado #1 Cigar of the Year in 2007.
At the pinnacle sits the Padron Family Reserve, blended from tobaccos aged over 10 years. Today Jorge Padron leads the company, continuing the family commitment to quality. Every Padron cigar is box-pressed, made from Cuban-seed Nicaraguan tobacco, and any cigar that does not meet standards is destroyed.
